Weaner Pups
Weaner pups living off nothing but their fat reserves on shore. Northern Elephant Seals ((Mirounga angustirostris) come ashore to breed, birth their young and molt at Año Nuevo State Park in Northern California. While the pelagic range covers an enormous span, breeding is restricted to only about seven principal areas, four of which are on coast of California.
