Over the past three years, I have donated more than $35,000 in professional photography and videography services to Samasource, an innovative non-profit social business founded by my sister, Leila, that connects women and youth living in poverty to dignified work via the Internet.
Founded in 2008, Samasource has provided life-changing employment opportunities for thousands of people. Traveling on assignment to Kenya in 2011 with the Samasource team, I got to see firsthand the impact of their work as I interviewed the young men and women who help support their families and send their siblings to school.
I am happy to share selected images and video interviews of the workers here or in the embedded gallery below. You can see how Samasource's micro-work model is impacting individuals throughout Kenya and elsewhere. Be sure to check out their website at www.samasource.org.
Also, coming up - I am preparing 8 large-format canvas wraps for the Samasource 2012 GiveWork Gala!
