The Nose of Discovery

The Nose of Discovery

The partially gutted nose of the Discovery sits in the Orbiter Processing Facility. When complete, this area is usually filled with a thruster system (see #8) that helps maneuver the shuttle when in orbit or at the time of docking. At the very tip, the nose contains most of the avionic instruments that display important flight parameters in the flight deck.
